Repurpose and Reuse Your Old Cabinets

When it's time to remodel your kitchen, you'll be faced with the decision of what to do with those old cabinets. You could put them on the curb or destroy them during the kitchen demolition. But, not so fast! Regardless of the age, condition or appearance of those old cabinets, we've found some fun and functional ways to recycle what you thought was junk.

What do you get when you reuse two base cabinets and a an old door slab?
A chic little office desk, with storage to boot!

We love the idea of taking a cabinet, putting feet on it and making a storage bench. While perfect for a kid's room, this would be great for a workbench in the garage or mudroom, too.

to see a step-by-step on how to create a bench like this for yourself, check out

With a little ingenuity and some elbow grease, old wall cabinets can be transformed into a gorgeous console table like the one below.

for a guide on how to create one of your own, visit

Your cabinets may have been deemed too ugly for display in the kitchen, but they're fine to use in the garage (or inside a closet). You can never have enough storage space in a garage. Use them to stow away tools, sports gear, paint supplies, and gardening equipment neatly. It may even open up some parking space!

Ok, so now we know what to do with kitchen cabinets. But what about bathroom vanities? Sand it, prime it, paint it and slap some legs on there and you have a Pottery Barn console table at a flea market price (or less!). Have a double vanity headed to the dump? Put it in the garage or utility room and turn it into a Recycling Station by removing the sinks and placing trash cans in the cabinet below the holes

I keep looking at goaillizatbon and can not figure out how US wages will NOT revert to a global level. If there are no barriers to capital movement, customer movement, not real friction in transport of goods, not real friction in transport of intellectual property, I don't see how wages in any profession can rise above a global mean in that field.I think risk has been discounted because of relative peace over the past 20 years. So that advantage is gone. How can our wages stay high? All I see is currency debasement until our wages are reset to a global norm.
